Michigan Capitol Area Chapter College Scholarship Program
Scholarship and Book Allowance Overview

  1. The MOAA Capitol Area College Scholarship Program is intended for chapter members, children/step children and grandchildren/step grandchildren of chapter members or children of any Michigan military service member, who died or was disabled in the line of duty.  Also, any Michigan military SERVICE MEMBER disabled in the line of duty since September 11, 2001 is eligible to apply. For this program, disabled means the service member is unable to continue in military service because of injury or medical condition.
  2. Scholarship awards may vary by amount and an applicant’s ranking, and are approximately $1,000 to $1,500 for college/university study, job training programs, or graduate school.  Any high school student awarded a scholarship may apply for one additional scholarship as an undergraduate student and again as a graduate student.  A student may apply each year (except when applying for a scholarship) for a book allowance of approximately $250 to $350.  Note:  If the applicant is NOT awarded a scholarship, the committee may consider the applicant for a book allowance.
  3. Applicants must be full time students and have a minimum 2.0 Grade Point Average.
  4. The chapter scholarship committee will make selections in May of each year.  The number of scholarships and book allowances awarded depends on funds available.  The scholarship program is funded through donations from chapter members and friends.  Additional consideration is given if the sponsor is a member of the National MOAA and contributes to the chapter scholarship program.

I am interested in donating to the scholarship program.
